Vehicle sought in Franklin County burned-body investigation

State and local authorities in Franklin County are seeking a vehicle in connection with the discovery early today of a woman's burned body found surrounded by flaming grass on a rural roadside near Winchester, Tenn., according to officials.

Authorities are looking for a red 1995 Ford Mustang bearing Tennessee license plate number 533-SBB, Franklin County Sheriff's Office Detective Chris Guess said this afternoon.

Guess said in a news release that deputies answered a call about 1:18 a.m. CDT today from a motorist who had spotted what they thought to be a grass fire. But when the driver turned around to check it out, officers said, the driver found a partially burned corpse.

Authorities ask that anyone with information about the missing Mustang or the incident to call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 931-967-2331 or the TBI at 1-800-824-3463 (1-800-TBI-FIND).
