A Sylvania, Ala., man has been charged with distributed synthetic marijuana, authorities say.

Aaron Wiley Jones, 42, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, two counts of first-degree possession of marijuana and one count of conspiring to distribute a controlled substance, said DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris in a news release.

The controlled substances counts involve "spice," one of the street names for synthetic marijuana.

Jones was taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center where he was booked, Harris said.
