Members of a Grundy County family say they won't feel safe until a suspect is found in connection with shots fired through their home that struck a 17-year-old boy in the head.

The family is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, said Benji Goins, the father of 17-year-old shooting victim Timmy Goins.

Saying he feels lucky to still have his son alive, Benji Goins added that he has no idea who fired a high-powered rifle into their home about midnight Sunday.

Timmy Goins was treated for his injuries and has since returned home, located on State Route 56 between Tracy City and Coalmont, his father said.

Benji Goins said he's almost certain the shooting was intentional although he's not sure why his family was a target.

Officials said the sheriff's office is still investigating but Sheriff Brent Myers was unavailable for comment this morning.

Anyone with any information on the shooting is urged to call the Grundy County Sheriff's Office at 932-692-3466.
