Dalton leads nation in job losses

Among the nation's 372 metropolitan areas, Dalton, Ga., had the biggest percentage decline in employment in the past year. From April 2011 to April 2012, the biggest share of jobs were lost in:

1 Dalton, Ga., down 6.4 percent, or 4,300 jobs

2 Ithaca, N.Y., down 5.6 percent, or 3,800 jobs

3 Fort Smith, Ark., down 4.8 percent, or 5,600 jobs

4 Elmira, N.Y., down 4.4 percent, or 1,800 jobs

5 Norwich-New London, Conn., down 4.3 percent, or 5,600 jobs
