Red Bank City Hall packed in about 50 people Tuesday, almost all of which opposed the impending 25-cent property tax increase that county commissioners would vote on - and ultimately, in favor of.
"It was already decided," Pat Weaver, a Red Bank citizen and owner of K & K Waste Disposal, said afterward. "We were just here to basically vent and get everything off our chest."
The property tax increase bumps it to $1.35 per $100 of assessed property value, or $337 for a home appraised at $100,000.
"It's going to be a struggle," Weaver said. "That's one week of my paycheck gone."
