East Brainerd's Roberts triplets play at Nightfall

The audience at Nightfall will be seeing triple when East Brainerd band More Like Me takes the stage Friday, June 29 at 7 p.m.

That's because identical 13-year-old triplets Jared, Jordan and Justin Roberts make up the band that will be the youngest to date to play at the summer music series.

"We're ecstatic about playing at Nightfall," said Justin. "We've gotten to a point where we don't really get nervous anymore and just get excited."

First and foremost influenced The Beatles, More Like Me also garners inspiration from sibling bands. The thing that distinguishes the band the most is the triplets' three-part harmonies, said their dad, Darren Roberts.

"We kind of do a rock and pop mix," said Jordan. "It's a lot of old school mixed with new school."

In addition to providing great three-part harmonies, Justin said their songs "rock" and More Like Me is guaranteed to please the audience at the group's Nightfall debut.

"They say sibling harmony is the best," said Jared. "Think about bands like The Allman Brothers."

After the performance, the triplets will be selling a limited eight-track CD with some of the songs they have been working on over the last year. All songs were written in collaboration with the triplets, their dad and producers out of Franklin, Tenn.

"We'd like to eventually be world-touring professional recording artsits," said Jordan.

But if that doesn't work out, Jared said that's OK with him.

"I'm pretty happy with the life I have now," he said.

The Roberts triplets attend Center for the Creative Arts and are third degree black belts in tae kwon do.
