NASHVILLE - GPS led for all but the first two minutes of the game, steadily pulling away to defend its Division II-AA state basketball championship Saturday with a 57-40 victory over Ensworth at Lipcsomb University.

Senior point guard Chadarryl Clay also repeated as D-II Miss Basketball and was named the state tournament MVP, finishing with 21 points in the title game.

Tory Kemp finished with 15 points and Simone Busby added 12 as the Bruisers avenged a two-point regular-season loss to Ensworth and joined the 1999-2000 GPS teams in repeating as state champions.
