Storm damage still being felt in road closures, I-24 slowdown

Power lines downed in Friday's storms continue to slow traffic on Interstate 24 near mile marker 175 and the Brown's Ferry exit, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol dispatcher.

One lane is closed on both westbound and eastbound routes.

A TDOT traffic incident map reports that all lanes were blocked for westbound traffic at 9 a.m. but were expected to be cleared by 11:50 a.m. Traffic was being diverted to alternate routes.

Some roads remain closed in northern Hamilton County in areas hit by storms on Friday, according to Janice Atkinson with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.

Short Tail Springs Road, Heron Drive to Shorttail Springs and Kittrell Road are closed.

The Electric Power Board is working in these areas, Atkinson said in a news release.
