Four men in custody in Ooltewah armed robbery

Four men have been charged in connection with an armed robbery that happened Thursday night in Ooltewah, authorities said.

Cody Chase, 18; Johnny Myrick, 21; Darien Clay, 19; and James Amaud Taylor, 20, were all taken into custody Thursday night, a news release said. A fifth suspect has not yet been identified.

According to a police news release, the victims were Alan Benjamin, 19; Daniel Smith, 18; and Lucas Braden, 18. They were sitting in a parked vehicle in front of 5409 Mulberry St. when they noticed a car drive by, turn around at a dead end and stop at the rear of their vehicle.

Five males exited the vehicle, two holding guns. They ordered the victims out of the vehicle, then ordered them to drop their pants and hand over their wallets and cellphones, the news release stated.

The suspects searched the car and took a car stereo before leaving. The guns were later located and described as pellet guns, the news release stated.
