Former Georgia tight end Orson Charles, who bypassed his senior season to enter next month's NFL draft, was arrested this morning in Athens and charged with DUI and driving minimum speed.
The 21-year-old Charles was booked around 4:30, according to the Athens-Clarke County jail booking report, and released about an hour later after posting bond at $1,750. He struggled in the 40-yard dash during Monday's Pro Day workouts on campus and is scheduled to hold an autograph signing session Saturday in Athens.
Charles, a 6-foot-3, 241-pounder from Tampa, amassed 45 receptions for 574 yards and five touchdowns this past season. His three-year career with the Bulldogs contained 94 receptions for 1,370 yards and 10 scores.
ESPN analyst Todd McShay has Charles projected among the top three tight ends available and among the top 40 or 45 selections overall.
