Hairstylists at DNA Hair Structure in Chickamauga are bringing in professional makeup artist Ashley Kozik, of Knoxville, to teach local ladies how to look 10 years younger through the application of Tigi Bed Head makeup.

DNA Hair Structure hairstylists Jennifer Spurlock, Amy Hamilton Barrett and Debbie Hamilton, from left, invite the community to attend a Bed Head Glaminar March 19 from 6-8 p.m. inside Constitution Hall in Fort Oglethorpe.

"I will show Glaminar participants step by step how to apply makeup," said Kozik, who serves as a Tigi Bed Head makeup educator. "We will talk about the eyes, the cheeks, the lips and the face. This is a look-good, feel-better class. Most women get a certain age and look in the mirror and say 'What happened?' I will make women look 10 years younger and feel good about themselves again."

The Glaminar event is set for March 19 from 6-8 p.m. inside Constitution Hall in Fort Oglethorpe. Tickets are on sale for $20 each, which includes some Tigi Bed Head makeup samples. Space is limited.

Due to demand, DNA Hair Structure will host more Glaminars this spring.

"Most people don't know how to apply makeup," said Kozik. "We will go over the basics of makeup in the Glaminar. We will teach the proper products to use for your skin type."

She said several models will be on hand that she will use to demonstrate a variety of makeup looks throughout the event. Those in attendance will take notes on how to apply makeup and walk away with samples and the opportunity to purchase makeup.

Kozik has instructed women in the South through 200 Glaminars. She has also worked on makeup for the cast of NBC's "Dateline," the models for Maxim magazine, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley and his campaign team and for beauty pageant participants. Kozik said she uses Tigi Bead Head makeup on her clients because it lasts all day.

"We've carried Tigi Bed Head makeup for the last 12 years in our salon," said DNA Hair Structure owner Debbie Hamilton, who started her salon 13 years ago and has personal makeup artist experience through "glamour portrait" preps. "Bed Head makeup has been rated No. 1 among U.S. hairdressers for 11 years in a row. We used the makeup with our "Beauty for Ashes" TV show for free makeovers for local women. It's amazing how you can go from natural to dramatic looks with this makeup."

Hamilton, who wears Bed Head makeup herself, said she puts it on early in the morning and it lasts throughout her 12-hour workday.

"I wear Tigi makeup and I have worn it for years and years," said Kozik. "I wear the beauty press powder. My favorite is the Tigi concealer and the eyeliner."
