A 24-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a single-car crash this morning on the W Road, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators were called to the 4200 block of the W Road at about 9:40 a.m. They found a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Tristan Farris had traveled eastbound down the W Road, a news release stated.

An initial investigation of the crash revealed the car traveled eastbound and went off the right side of the road. The car slid sideways across the wet road and hit a tree when Farris tried to regain control, the news release stated.

Farris was unconscious at the scene, investigators said.

Walden's Ridge Emergency Services, assisted by the Signal Mountain Fire Department, provided emergency medical care at the scene.

Farris was transported to an area hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services.

The investigation is being handled by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Traffic Division and is on-going.
