Red Bank has hired a new city manager.

Randall Smith, from Tallahassee, Fla., accepted the position of city manager after the city's Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 tonight to hire Smith over candidate Charles Beale.

Smith runs a business helping private companies form government partnership, and must decide the future of his business before he moves to Red Bank, Mayor Monty Millard said.

Smith will make a $80,000 annual salary with benefits, about $10,000 less than the city's previous manager, Chris Dorsey.
