The Hamilton County JailA man died Saturday night in his cell at the Hamilton County Jail, according to a sheriff's office news release.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said the 48-year-old white man was found unresponsive at about 11:15. Staff began cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the man was taken to Erlanger hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man's identity was not disclosed. Atkinson said the Hamilton County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
The investigation is being handled by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division. Additional information will be released when it becomes available, she said.
