A 20-year-old man who has been convicted of criminal trespassing in Chattanooga Housing Authority properties 10 times was arrested again for the same offense Wednesday.

Aaron Mitchell was also arrested on criminal trespassing last week as well as assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He is currently subject of a fact finding investigation by Chattanooga Police Department's internal affairs division after a minister watched him get arrested on Oct. 4 in College Hill Courts.

The Rev. Leroy Griffith of Renaissance Presbyterian Church said he and other residents watched Chattanooga Police Officer Robert Simmons handcuff Mitchell -- a documented Bounty Hunter Bloods gang member -- and then take him to the ground. Officer Jeremy Eames assisted during the arrest.

The department received a letter detailing the arrest from Griffith on Wednesday and opened a fact-finding inquiry to determine if any of the department's rules may have been violated.

Officers working with Chattanooga Housing Authority police noticed Mitchell back at College Hill Courts on Wednesday and took out a warrant for his arrest. He was still incarcerated Wednesday.

"We're trying to raise money to get him bonded out. We did it last time. We'll do it again," Griffith said.

Griffith said Mitchell has family members who reside at the housing development which is why he continues to return. Mitchell was initially placed on the trespassing list after a drug arrest.
