Interviews to be held for applicants for Court of Appeals judge vacancy

The Tennessee Judicial Nominating Committee will hold interviews of eleven applicants to fill the Court of Appeals Eastern Section vacancy created by Judge Herschel P. Franks announced retirement at the end of the year.

The public meeting date for interviews was listed as Nov. 16 at the Sheraton Read House here beginning at 9 a.m., according to the Administrative Office of the Courts release.

After the public hearing the commission will interview each applicant and recommend three candidates to Gov. Bill Haslam for his selection.

The following attorneys applied for the position:

Hugh J. Moore Jr. - Chattanooga

Daniel P. Street - Blountville

Sarah Yarber Sheppeard - Knoxville

Jimmie Alice Carpenter Miller - Kingsport

David Edward Long - Knoxville

Thomas Radcliffe Frierson - Morristown

Michael A. Faulk - Church Hill

Jesse Dewayne Bunch - Cleveland

Jerri S. Bryant - Athens

Esther L. Bell - Knoxville

Brian K. Addington - Kingsport
