Official: UT suffers 'black eye' from alcohol enema reports

KNOXVILLE - A University of Tennessee vice chancellor this morning said he was "shocked" by reports that a fraternity had engaged in administering an alcohol enema to a member and the administration has begun its probe of the allegations.

"We will be conducting our own investigation now that the reports are in," UT Vice Chancellor for Student Life W. Timothy Rogers said. "Those who were cited will certainly have their cases reviewed."

University officials called a news conference for Rogers to explain how the Sept. 22 report of "butt-chugging" at the Pi Kappa Alpha house on Fraternity Drive had given the institution "a black eye." The news conference was attended by local media outlets and a crew from CNN.
