Chattanooga Police arrest two men after morning armed robbery

Two men believed in their 20s were arrested today after a morning armed robbery at the Exxon at 4345 Highway 58.

A news release from the police department said a clerk and patron of the station chased the suspects and that patrol officers were then able to set up a perimeter to contain them.

One of the men was taken into custody and shortly afterwards the second suspect was captured.

The release said a handgun used in the robbery was located in a residential swimming pool into which one of the suspects was believed to have thrown it.

They face charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.

The investigation is continuing, the release said.
