CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Cleveland Planning Commission has approved - with some modifications - proposals for the city to annex eight areas in Bradley County.
On Thursday, the board approved plans of service by 7-0 votes for annexations of areas located on Freewill Road and Country Club Drive after coming to agreements with developers, who have voiced concerns regarding extra costs to redo work to meet city standards.
City planners have agreed to accept plats previously approved by county inspectors for the Silver Springs subdivision, which is located in the Freewill Road area.
Plans already have been accepted for parcels at Hardwick Farms, a section of Anatole, the proposed veterans home and areas located on Mason Road, Autumn Drive and Old Chattanooga Pike.
The Cleveland City Council is scheduled to hold public hearings regarding the proposed annexations on April 22 and May 13.
