KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - If anyone was intrigued by the "missing sloth" fliers that appeared on the University of Tennessee campus, Michael Judkins never heard from them.
Judkins posted the bogus handbills as part of his Freshman Study class. They showed a photo of a sloth who was identified as "Mr. Nibblesworth" and gave Judkins' cellphone number. He told WVLT-TV the only call he got was from a station reporter.
Another flier also was posted, apparently by another student. It said a missing sloth named "Lamar" was last seen in the clutches of an eagle.
Sloths are extremely slow-moving mammals the size of small dogs. Their habitat is the rainforest canopies of Central and South America.
