AT&T announced today that its 4G LTE service will roll out in Chattanooga this summer, bringing it up to speed with Verizon, which already offers LTE speeds, and T-Mobile, which boasts a faster version of the older HSPA+ standard.

The announcement leaves Sprint as the only major carrier that has yet to bring the fastest tier of 4G service to Chattanooga.

"Chattanooga enjoys AT&T's fast 4G speeds today as part of the nation's largest 4G network, and our teams will be working hard across the city toward our upcoming 4G LTE launch," said MaryStewart Lewis, AT&T's regional director for external affairs in Tennessee.

AT&T uses the term "4G" to refer to both its faster LTE standard as well as the company's slower HSPA+ tier of service. AT&T already offers HSPA+ to its Chattanooga mobile customers.

"AT&T customers in Chattanooga can look forward to even faster speeds by the end of the summer, on our leading lineup of smartphones, tablets and other devices," Lewis said.
