TBI: 2 charged in drive-by shooting in Crossville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Two people have been charged in a drive-by shooting in Crossville that left one person injured.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm says 36-year-old Danny Bilyeu of Crossville and 31-year-old Nathaniel Payne of Crossville were arrested today. Helm says the Bilyeu is suspected of firing into a house and injuring one person on Sunday. Helm says Payne was in the vehicle with Bilyeu when the shots were fired.

The victim was shot once in the abdomen. He was treated for injuries at a nearby hospital. Another adult and two children were in the home when the shooting happened.

Billyeu is charged with attempted first degree murder and one count of criminal attempt. Payne is charged with criminal responsibility for attempted first degree murder and criminal responsibility for criminal attempt.
