City of Chattanooga Chief Operating Officer Andrew Kean today offered more specifics on government restructuring.

Kean said Memorial Auditorium, the Tivoli Theatre and the city's golf course would be moved to the Department of General Services. They previously fell under the Parks and Recreation Department.

Parts of the Parks and Recreation Department would be split. All recreation programs will fall under the newly created Youth and Family Development Department, while the parks portion would be under Economic and Community Development, Kean said.

The council will vote tonight on eliminating the Parks and Recreation, Education, Arts & Culture, Human Services and Neighborhood Services departments.

The council also will vote to create the new Youth & Family Development, Economic & Community Development and Transportation departments.
