Robert P. MainRobert P. Main, president and CEO of Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation, will retire on Jan. 31, 2014, after leading the facility for 26 years.
"Because of an outstanding staff committed to quality care and a supportive community, Siskin Hospital has become the region's rehabilitation hospital of choice with an excellent national reputation," Main said in a news release. "I was given a rare opportunity to design, build and staff Siskin Hospital from the ground up, an opportunity for which I am profoundly grateful."
A national search firm will assist in recruiting Siskin's next CEO.
Main has served on numerous boards and committees at the local, regional and national level, and has received countless awards and recognition throughout his 47-year career in health care, according to the news release.
In 2011, he was named the Chamber of Commerce's Chattanooga Area Manager of the Year. Most recently, he was awarded with the 2013 Baroness Erlanger Foundation's Distinguished Community Honoree Award and the 2013 American Hospital Association's Grassroots Champion Award.
