A 43-year-old man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and a sentence of 15 years rather than face a second trial in the 2009 slaying of local rapper Robert "Brikk" Brown.
Alonzo Grace's plea was made Wednesday along with his co-defendant, Dexter Talley.
Talley, 32, pleaded guilty to facilitation of especially aggravated robbery and received a four-year sentence.
Both men had faced robbery, murder and assault charges. The additional charges were dismissed with their pleas.
Prosecutors alleged in the May 2012 trial that the pair invaded a home Brown was staying at to rob him of drugs and money. Brown was traveling through the area promoting his new rap record with a California label.
Police did not find drugs in the 3929B Webb Oaks Court apartment where the shooting death took place.
The first trial ended in a hung jury.
