Mocs football practice report

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team conducted its second practice of the preseason Friday morning at Scrappy Moore Field. Coach Russ Huesman described the session, which lasted a little more than two hours, as "decent."

"The energy was decent - I thought it was a decent practice - but we've got to continue to emphasize little things like constantly moving, jogging, position to position, standing tall and not bending over, those types of things that make you look weak and make you look lazy," he said.

Highs: Sophomore running back Chris Awuah and redshirt freshman cornerback Kadeem Wise had two of the better performances.

Awuah looked sharp and speedy running the ball and also did well catching the ball on screen passes. Wise, meanwhile, made several good plays in coverage and caught the attention of Huesman.

"Kadeem Wise really looked good today, broke on the ball way better today," he said.

Lows: Unlike Thursday when all the receivers caught pretty much everything thrown their way, the wideouts had a lot of drops Friday. Junior Joel Bradford, normally one of the more sure-handed receivers, had several passes go right through his hands.

The Mocs will resume practice Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The practice was originally scheduled for the morning but was moved to avoid interfering with graduation at McKenzie Arena.
