Highway 58 wreck kills motorcyclist

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A motorcyclist died after colliding with a pickup truck about 5:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 58 and Sutton Road, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the orange Kawasaki Z-1000 was wearing a helmet, and the sheriff’s office is considering speed a factor in the crash. The motorycylist has been identified as John M. Cox, 29, of Georgetown.

The driver of the other vehicle was unhurt.
