The Chattanooga Transportation Department has reported that the 1100 block of West 40th Street, just west of Pirola Street, will be narrowed to one lane beginning Monday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The narrowing of the road will allow for storm sewer repair to be carried out daily with the expected completion of the project by Aug. 16.
After each work day, the road will be reopened to two lanes.
Crew members with flags will be present each day to assist motorists navigate the narrowed road.
