Chattanooga firefighters put out a fire at Bentco Office Supplies at 1501 Stuart Street around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Captain Ashley May said smoke was showing from the back of the building and firefighters had to force their way inside, according to a news release.

Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to locate fire on the roof, and extinguish it quickly.

The business was closed for the day and unoccupied. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental, most likely from an electrical malfunction, according to the release.

Chattanooga firefighters also responded to a house fire at 286 Bass Road around 9:30 p.m.

The house was divided up into four apartment units. Only one was occupied and that resident got out safely, according to a news release.

It took firefighters more than an hour to get the blaze under control. No injuries were reported. The house was considered a total loss.

A fire investigator said the fire may have been started by a lightning strike, but for now, the cause of the fire reportedly remains under investigation.
