Chattanooga announces planned street closings

The Chattanooga Transportation Department has reported some roads will be closed over the next couple of days to accommodate area events.

A news release said Riverfront Parkway/Riverside Drive from Power Alley to Aquarium Way, Chestnut Street from Aquarium Way to Riverfront Parkway, Power Alley from the garage entrance to Riverfront Parkway and the Veterans Bridge south bound exit ramp will be closed from Friday at noon to Sunday at 10 a.m. for the Southern Brewers Festival.

The release said M.L. King Boulevard between Broad Street and Georgia Avenue and Market Street between East Eighth and East 10th streets will be closed on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to midnight for the Nightfall Concert Series. The 800 block of Cherry Street will be closed at King Boulevard and will only be accessible from East Eighth Street.

It was also stated that North Hawthorne Street, from Vine to Oak streets, Oak Street from North Hawthorne Street to North Orchard Knob and North Orchard Knob from Vine to Oak streets will be closed Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. for Blues in the Knob.

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park, will be Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Chattanooga Market.
