Parents bash school play where Santa gets murdered and curses the killer as he dies

MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Parents at Magnolia High School are letting the school district know they're not feeling jolly about a student Christmas play that featured Santa being murdered in a convenience store and other gunplay.

The students on Wednesday performed "Gangsta Claus," which featured a dying Santa placing a curse on the thug who shot him, condemning the man to become the new Santa.

District spokeswoman Vanda Crank said administrators agree with parents that the play had inappropriate content.

She said told The Banner-News that "processes are being put in place to prevent any future occurrences."

The play was performed by a drama class during the school's Red and White Christmas Celebration.

The script for the play, by Don Zolidis, is available online at playscripts.com, which describes the work as a "ridiculous comedy."
