Four more potential candidates have picked up qualifying paperwork for the May 6, 2014 Hamilton County primaries.

Incumbent Republican Hamilton County District 1 Commissioner Fred Skillern picked up papers on Dec. 6.

Skillern may face competition from Republican Randy Fairbanks, a certified public accountant.

Clerk of Criminal Court Gwen Tidwell has also picked up qualiying paperwork. Tidwell, a Democrat, will also see a challenger during the May 6 primary. Democrat Brian White has picked up papers to seek the post. So far state Rep. Vince Dean, R-East Ridge, is the only GOP candidate seeking the post.

Former Hamilton County Commissioner John Allen Brooks is seeking the Democratic nomination to seek the District 6 Commission seat. Incumbent Republican Joe Graham so far has no competition for the primary.

Pat Fountain has joined as the sole Democrat seeking to fill the County Commission's District 7 seat being vacated by Republican Commissioner Larry Henry. But Republicans Sabrena Turner, Perry Perkins and Phil Smartt will battle for the GOP nod. Henry is vying to become the Clerk of Circuit Court.
