Sweet Gipsy's Breakfast with Santa returns

Sweet Gipsy may be long gone, but the former Signal Mountain restaurant and coffee shop's popular Breakfast with Santa is back. The event will be held at the MACC Friday, Dec. 20 at 9 a.m.

Santa and his elves will be available for photographs as children paint ornaments and enjoy breakfast while they wait their turn.

"It's a great way to have the kids' picture taken with Santa, especially if you have more than one child, without going to the mall," said event organizer and former Sweet Gipsy owner Jennifer Verville.

She said she took last Christmas off after the restaurant closed, and decided to bring the breakfast back for its fourth year and hold it at the MACC. While she had to schedule multiple seatings for past breakfasts held at the restaurant, Verville said the larger space at MACC allows for a single seating.

Kids will be served pancakes, sausage links, yogurt with berries and a choice of milk or orange juice. Adults will have the option of pancakes or veggie quiche plus coffee, milk or juice. The cost is $10 for adults or children, and each child leaves with a goodie bag from Santa.
