Double stabbing

Two women were stabbed multiple times in the chest last night at a Chattanooga home, according to a news release from the police department.

Rodrickous Hodges, 21, is being held at Hamilton County Jail on $1 million bond for the double stabbing.

According to a Chattanooga Police Department release, officers were dispatched to 3700 4th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on a disorder call between a male and female. Witnesses reportedly said a man was chasing a woman in the street.

When police arrived at the 4th Street residence, Hodges met them outside and said everything was OK. But police say they heard screaming from inside, and two women came to the door "bleeding severely."

Those women were Ueronica Watkins, Hodges' 21-year-old girlfriend and Watkins' friend Destinee Jackson, 22.

Both had multiple stab wounds to the chest and were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hodges reportedly took off on foot when the women came to the door but was caught after a brief chase and then taken to the police department on Amnicola Highway for questioning.

In an interview with police, Hodges reportedly admitted to "losing it" after going to Watkins 4th Avenue house to work things out between the two. He wrote a confession letter and said he "wasn't himself," police said.

Authorities recovered Hodges' bloody jacket and two knives which were broken off at the handle inside Watkins' home.

Hodges is at Hamilton County Jail facing two attempted first degree murder charges. His bond was set at $1 million.
