Hamilton County's jobless rate in November down to 7.1 percent

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development has reported that the unemployment rate for Hamilton County dropped nine-tenths of a percentage point to 7.1 percent in November.

Additionally, Davidson County's rate was down from 6.7 percent to 5.8 percent in November while Knox County's rate was 5.9 percent, a decline from 6.7 percent. Shelby County's jobless rate in November was 9.4 percent, down from 10.1 percent in October.

The state labor department said the rate decreased in 93 counties in Tennessee while going up in only one county and remaining the same in another county.

For November, Tennessee's unemployment was 8.1 percent, four-tenths of a percentage point below that for October's revised rated.
