MEMPHIS - A defense lawyer says a Memphis pastor is pleading guilty to sexual battery of a teenage girl and his church will shut down.
Attorney Art Horne tells WMC-TV that he and prosecutors have worked out a plea agreement for Michael Bryant, pastor at Hour of Restoration Church of God in Christ in Memphis.
Horne says Bryant is pleading guilty to sexual battery by an authority figure and the sentence will be six years.
According to a court document, Bryant had been accused of touching a 16-year-old girl inappropriately for the past two years.
Horne says Hour of Restoration COGIC, which has 27 members, will close as of Dec. 31.
