Nissin Brake Georgia, a supplier to the Lincoln, Ala., Honda plant, is completing a 50,000-square-foot expansion in Rock Spring, Ga., that will allow it to add 30 new jobs.

"We are so pleased that Nissin has decided to make this new investment in Walker County," Walker County commissioner Bebe Heiskell said.

The deal finalized by the company with the Walker County Development Authority is estimated to total about $33 million.

"There are a couple of reasons behind the expansion," Plant Manager Jim Owen said. "First, we have seen increased sales within our current product lines. Second, we have new products that will be coming online at the plant that will require more room for manufacturing."

"This expansion is a wonderful gift to our area here at the holiday season," Walker County Development Authority executive director Larry Brooks said. "These jobs will mean the possibility of a bright year ahead for many who are looking for employment opportunities."

Nissin Brake makes braking systems and other parts used in the automotive and non-automotive industry.

With the expansion, Nissin Brake Georgia will have about 235 employees and its plant will total 150,000 square feet.
