KINGSTON, Tenn. - The Cleveland, Tenn., lawyer who helped win Leon Houston's freedom strolled across his ex-client's family farm Tuesday to knock down the sign that smeared his name.
Jim Logan didn't even stop to change out of his suit.
"The allegation that I would do anything illegal is erroneous, and anyone who knows me knows it is not true," the attorney said. "I'll deal with the other signs later."
Logan, who defended Leon Houston twice on double-murder charges in the death of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along, won control of the Houston family property after a brief hearing Tuesday morning in Roane County Probate Court. Judge Jeffrey Wicks granted Logan authority as administrator over the family farm and all other property left by Clyde Houston, a former Roane County commissioner and father of Rocky Joe and Leon Houston.
