1. Game of of the week, month, season? - Davidson will play Thursday at the College of Charleston in a matchup of the two best teams in the Southern Conference. Davidson won 77-68 in the first matchup beside Lake Norman. "It's fun to play in big games," Charleston coach Doug Wojcik said. "They're the reigning champs and they're in first place, so it should be a good game."

2. Purple Paladins bruises - Furman coach Jeff Jackson had six healthy and available players to finish off a 72-66 loss at Appalachian State on Monday after Charlie Reddick became injured in the first half. Jackson said he doesn't know how many healthy players he'll have Thursday to play in Chattanooga. "We won't know about [Reddick] or David Brown until right before the game," Jackson said. "We should have [seven] ready, but four of them are posts. So we'll figure out what we need to do."

3. Sneaking into the Top 10 - Davidson coach Bob McKillop said he was unaware that Wildcats forward Jake Cohen moved into the top 10 of SoCon career shot blockers over the weekend. The senior now has 183 blocks. The career leader is former Western Carolina forward Rans Brempong, who blocked 308 shots from 2001 to '05. "Jake has developed a tremendous feel for the game," McKillop said. "He has a good basketball IQ. He's understanding position and angles, and it's paying dividends for him."
