Hamilton County Assessor of Property Bill Bennett says the first wave of many property reappraisal notices will be sent to residents Friday.
Bennett reported to the county commission today, during a regularly scheduled agenda meeting, to update commissioners on the status of property reappraisals, which his office is responsible for every four years, according to state law.
According to Bennett, about a third of the nearly 150,000 taxable properties in the county were reappraised at a higher value, a third were reduced and a final third remained the same.
Bennett also said property tax revenue remained neutral in 2012, but property sales increased slightly.
