Mayoral candidate Chester Heathington is claiming that the family of campaign frontrunner Andy Berke is profiting from Woodlawn Apartments, a complex he says is the "epicenter" of crime in the city.

Heathington's campaign plans a 1 p.m. news conference to discuss the issue.

The Berke campaign quickly responded.

Property records show that Berke "has no ownership in the Woodlawn Apartment Complex, either through a partnership or personally," the campaign said in a statement. "He has no decision-making or management authority and has no personal connection to the property."
