Man dies in crash during police chase

CAMDEN, Tenn. - Police say they are investigating after a police chase in West Tennessee ended with a fatal wreck.

Officials told The Jackson Sun that an officer saw Ronnie Hensley speed through two intersections in Benton County on Thursday without stopping, so he tried to pull him over.

Officer say Hensley didn't stop, and ended up turning on Tennessee 192, a curvy, two-lane highway. Police say the officer started to pull back from the pursuit due to road conditions, but then Hensley lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. He was ejected from the vehicle.

Police say a toxicology report is being done to determine if drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash. They are also trying to determine why Hensley didn't stop for the officer.
