La Dean Shop owner Marianna Power is hosting a magical day Saturday, Jan. 19 when ladies can transform into Disney princesses.

No magic wand or fairy godmothers will be needed to create the transformation. Ladies will just walk into a dressing room, try on one of the Alfred Angelo gowns in the Cinderella Diamond Collection Trunk Show and come out looking like they just stepped out of a fairytale.

Rossville bride-to-be Erin McCraw wears the Disney Fairytale Wedding dress named Ariel made by designer Alfred Angelo. The flowing dress with ruffles can be worn with a fashionable Ariel sash in "beyond the sea" color or one of the other 49 sash colors. The Ariel dress can be found year-round inside Rossville's La Dean Shop.

La Dean Shop is one of only a select handful of stores nationwide showcasing the dresses. Power was contacted by Disney and specifically asked to host the trunk show.

"I was asked by Disney to showcase five wedding gowns called 'glass slipper,'" said Power. "The girls come in, try one on and if they choose to order one, then they can buy one. The Alfred Angelo wedding gowns are available in trunk shows only at preferred bridal shops. There are five gowns in honor of the release of the Cinderella Diamond Collection DVD."

She said the special dresses will come in on Thursday and be out to view by Friday. She said she hopes at least 100 young ladies will stop by to try on the collection of Cinderella-style dresses.

"It's every little girl's dream to have the fairytale wedding, and dreams do come true," said Power. "I like working with brides when they come in."

Her shop carries a collection of Disney Fairytale Wedding dresses by Alfred Angelo named after Disney princesses year-round. Some are named for Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog," Belle from "Beauty and the Beast" and Rapunzel from "Tangled."

Power said she can personally alter dresses, but her shop's seamstress handles the alterations needed.

"I offer one-on-one personal service," she said. "I am the only store that carries the bridal dresses of Alfred Angelo in this area. I think all the dresses are beautiful. Alfred Angelo's labels say 'fairytale weddings' and 'dreams do come true.'"
