East Hamilton defeats Faith Baptist, 74-63, in first game of the Scenic City Showcase

Using a balanced scoring attack, the East Hamilton basketball team defeated Faith Baptist 74-63 in the first game of the Scenic City Showcase at East Hamilton on Friday.

Cody Knox led four players in double figures with 16 points, while Ladarius Watkins added 15. Tre Herndon had 14 and Dominic Powell had 13 for the Hurricanes (13-3).

Shaliek Ulysse finished with a game-high 29 points for Faith Baptist, who left eight of their players in Georgia. Marquisse Chandler added 23.

Central Park 71, Cleveland 67 (OT): The Raiders had their chances to claim the victory in regulation, but missed some key free throws down the stretch and fell in overtime to Central Park.

Kendrick Thompson finished with a career-high 34 points, including eight 3-pointers, to lead the Raiders (11-8). Isaiah Beaty and C.J. Bryant added 10 points each.

Srdjan Budimer finished with 20 points for Central Park.

The Rock 82, Hamilton Heights 31: The Rock lived up to its' billing as one of the top teams in the nation, routing the Hawks.

Kansas signee and 7-foot center Joel Embiid had 17 points to lead The Rock. Six-foot-8 post Glenn Feidanga added 12, while Mitchell Wilbekin and Christian Benzon added 11 points each.

Rokas Paulauskas had 13 points to lead Hamilton Heights.

SC-ALI 67, East Hamilton girls 60: Jessica Caudle scored a career-high 26, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Hurricanes fell to 11-7 on the season.

Alexius Zackery and Kaylee Moon added 10 points each for East Hamilton.
