WASHINGTON - A Republican official says the GOP-controlled House will vote next week to permit the government to borrow more money to meets its obligations.

Full details aren't settled yet, but the move is aimed at giving the government about three more months of borrowing authority beyond a deadline expected to hit as early as mid-February.

The House is hoping to force the Senate to approve a budget resolution by conditioning pay for members of Congress on passing a budget.
