Chattanooga police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place in the 1200 block of Grove Street around 8:20 p.m. Monday.
The victim was 23-year-old Terry Parker Jr. Officials say he was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was walking down the sidewalk when the suspect shot him and fled the scene, said police spokesman Nathan Hartwig.
Hartwig said it's too early in the investigation to identify any suspects.
"No evidence to support that it's gang-related, but again it's too early in the investigation to say yes or no," Hartwig said.
There have been eight other shootings in Chattanooga so far this year.
