The murder trial of a Chattanooga woman charged in the 2010 shooting death of a 50-year-old Cleveland, Tenn.-man began this morning with jury selection.

Quinisha Brabson, 23, faces a charge of second-degree murder and unlawful posession if a weapon in the slaying of Timmy Nichols on April 8, 2010.

She has been in jail custody since the incident.

Nichols was shot while in a vehicle in a parking lot on the corner of Main and Willow streets. When Nichols attempted to get out of his vehicle, Brabson shot him in the chest, according to authorities.

Nichols then drove the car west, crashing into a utility pole at 1800 E. Main St. Two passengers in the car sustained injuries in the crash but were not seriously hurt.
