Chattanooga City Council agrees to consider amended animal ordinance

Members of the Chattanooga City Council Economic and Community Development Committee voted today to consider an amended version of the proposed animal control ordinance governing urban chickens.

The full council will vote tonight on a first reading of the amended version.

Council members Yusuf Hakeem, Moses Freeman, Russell Harris, Chip Henderson, Jerry Mitchell and Chris Anderson voted for the amendment. Council members Carol Berz and Larry Grohn voted against the changes. Councilman Ken Smith abstained from the vote.
