The 121-year-old W Road on the side of Signal Mountain has reopened after having been closed since April 9 for repairs.
Its reopening comes after two key areas underwent repairs.
A news release from Hamilton County government said its highway department placed 560 tons of asphalt paving, lane striping, did 1,000 feet of guardrail adjustment and 400 feet of guardrail replacement and cleaned roadside drainage ditches and drain pipes.
The release also said the project cost $1.26 million, $8,000 under budget.
The opening today is also sooner than what was projected. The W had been set to reopen Monday.
