Six families displaced by Red Bank apartment fire

Red Bank firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 7:27 p.m. Sunday night at in the Ravenscroft Apartments at 300 W. Midvale Ave.

Six families will be staying in temporary housing tonight due to an apartment fire at 300 W. Midvale Avenue in Red Bank.

At 7:30 p.m., a 911 call was received reporting apartment 9 was on fire. Red Bank Fire Department responded to the scene reporting fire and smoke showing in one of the units.

Firefighters worked quickly to knock the fire out to keep the fire from spreading to the adjacent units. No injuries were reported but Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for any potential injuries.

Fire officials reported apartment #9 had severe fire damage and the other units had smoke and water damage.

Damages are unknown at this time and the cause of the fire will be under investigation by the Red Bank Fire Department. The American Red Cross responded to assist the families of the six units. Dallas Bay VFD also responded to assist Red Bank for additional manpower.

A shelter was opened at Red Bank Baptist Church to temporarily house the families.
